What could be better than a grass block? A little square companion to keep you company, or a vibrant cherry blossom forest filled with bright pink trees? Or how about soaring through the sky with an Elytra on your back (just watch where you're going!)? Perhaps diving deep into a mine to uncover rare diamond ore? Or maybe something even more? These are just a few of the countless experiences you can enjoy in Minecraft, the iconic 2010 cube-like sandbox game. Beyond just creating a simple animated logo, my goal was to craft an animation that captures the essence of the many adventures and experiences players can expect when diving into Minecraft.

Animation Short Film

I used Illustrator to create most of the imagery for the animation, then brought each figure and shape to life in After Effects, adding sound effects to enhance the experience. The animation above is a shortened version of the original animation. However, due to its length, I decided to create a shorter version of the logo, while also keeping the original as a separate short film reel that would be posted on the Minecraft official Instagram page as content.

Minecraft holds a special place in my childhood, as I spent countless hours honing my skills and immersing myself in its world. With its engaging world-building and fun graphics. I mirrored these experiences in the animation, creating specific scenes that demonstrate the game's primary goal is for players to learn how to survive off the land using only available resources while gaining enough strength to venture into the expansive world.
